Opening Session - Thermofluid -
A keynote speech on the advanced CFD models for IC engine optimization will be presented by Professor Rolf Reitz, Engine Research Center, University of Wisconsin, who will first visit to Japan and is well-known in the engine combustion simulation field. CDAJ will also introduce the latest version of STAR-CD, the core of CDAJ services, and the future development plans for CDAJ's handling products, such as STAR-CCM+, the next generation CFD solution. |
| Hall D |
Opening Session - Optimization -
A keynote speech on Multi-Disciplinary Optimization (MDO) in the automobile industry based with relevant efforts, current issues and future needs will be introduced by US Ford. CDAJ will introduce our domestic deployment strategy for modeFRONTIER, a multi-objective optimization and design environment, and ES.TEC.O, its developer and distributor, will show the latest functions and the development plan. |

Hall A |
Meshing and post-processing latest technology
While growing needs for CAE in design fields from year to year, effective meshing suitable for analysis needs are increasingly growing as an important theme. During the year, the relevant technological innovation shows remarkable progress. This session will introduce the latest meshing technology, such as surface wrapping/CAD data correction/Morphing/Overlapped mesh, and post-processing tools provided by CDAJ. Our customers will also present various application cases in the structural analysis field. |
| Hall B |
Optimization technology for design - application cases
Application cases and the most-advanced efforts for the optimization technology, which has been in practical use and incorporated into a design process, will be introduced by research institutes and companies.
|
| Hall C |
Performance improvement by virtual engine/vehicle model and application cases (GT-SUITE users conference in Japan)
Simulation technologies have been applied and used in diverse ways at the design phase to reduce the engine development time and evaluate the performance of newly developed devices. Recently, refinement of analysis models, and contrarily simplified models for considering controls draw an attention, especially. This session will give domestic and overseas cases considering performance improvement using GT-SUITE. |
| Hall D |
Fundamental theory of fluid dynamics
As the last year, in this session, this year's one will give two lectures for CAE fundamental theory, rather than application cases. First, polyhedral mesh proposed by and unique to CD-adapco: a development manager for polyhedral mesher of CD-adapco will speak about meshing technologies. Second, stress analysis by Finite Volume Method provided first in STAR-CD V4.02 from CD-adapco: a development manager for the stress analysis solver will speak its theory and advantages. |

Hall A |
CAE process automation - latest technology and software
The number of companies developing their own CAE support system is rapidly increasing, by effectively using the past data and know-how accumulated by design/development operations. Along with IT technology that is evolving every day, the environment surrounding the system establishment is also evolving. This session will give the latest tools and their applications to deliver CAE process automation. |
| Hall B |
Multiphysics latest technology (Fluid-Structure Interaction and Aeroacoustics)
Recently, needs for multi-physics simulation such as the fluid-structure interaction and aeroacoustics are growing. In this session, the leading-edge technologies of the fluid-structure interaction, aeroacoustic, and casting analysis with STAR-CD will be introduced by each development company. Our customers will also introduce their application practices related to the fluid-structure interaction. |
| Hall C |
Control software/embedded software development for safety-critical systems -latest technology
SCADE, a development tool for embedded control software, is a model-based development environment tool based on the "formally defined specification language". SCADE comes into use in the companies addressing safety-critical systems. This session will introduce such company's applications. Esterel Technologies will introduce the concept of the latest version of V6.0. |

Hall A |
CAE applications in power generation
The power generation is one of fields that CAE has been early addressed and yielded substantial results. As a keynote speaker of this session, Professor Philip Smith will be invited from University of Utah. CD-adapco as the developer of STAR-CD and our customers will also show various applications in the fire power/nuclear power/hydraulic power areas. |
| Hall B |
CAE applications in electric and precise equipment
Thermal and EMC problems are two main themes that are necessary steps towards electronic device designs. In this session, Flomerics, the developer of FLOTHERM-SUITE, the thermal analysis software for the electronics and EMC design tool, will introduce their latest development topics and analysis know-hows. Our customers will also introduce their application practices of thermal/EMC design from component-level to board-level. |
| Hall C |
Simulation technology in chemicals and process
Professor Nishino of Yokohama National University will make a speech on Image Measurement technique and CFD technology with a focus on flows in the stirred mixing vessel. CDAJ has released new tools called DARS-BASIC and DARS-CFD mainly for Complex Chemistry simulation; so, we will introduce their functionalities with various cases. Our customers will also present the latest CAE information on chemical processes.
